Prismatic, Juno-nominee Jim Head's newest release, draws inspiration from the vibrant energy and richly creative music of New York City. The album showcases Head's detailed, lush, unpredictable, and adventurously melodic compositions. While building on influences like masters Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, and contemporaries such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aaron Parks, and Melissa Aldana, Head has forged a style and sound that is contemporary and distinctly personal.

Guitarist Jim Head’s first CD as a leader, "Mind's Eye", features his original compositions and performances by Jim Vivian on bass, Owen Howard on drums, and Josh Rager on Rhodes. Transcending the early influences of masters such as Jim Hall, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny, and contemporaries like Ben Monder and Kurt Rosenwinkel, Head has fashioned a voice that is vital, incisive, and uniquely his own.
